Gries Seed Farms, Inc. got its start in 1935 when B.J. Gries was working as a farm manager for the superintendent of the Fremont Schools. The local County Extension Agent encouraged Mr. Gries to attend the first hybrid seed corn school at the Ohio State University. This was a two-week course that introduced the first hybrid seed corn to the Corn Belt, and subsequently led to the birth of Gries Seed Farms, Inc. |

Today, Gries Seed Farm, Inc. is run by the Gries family and managed by Ed Thurn - General Manager.
Many thanks to the founder, BJ Gries, for 67 years of service as company President. You will be missed! BJ was 94. |

The production of certified wheat, oats and soybeans and hybrid seed corn is accomplished by contracting nearly 20,000 acres of farm land. Our processing facilities can accommodate any type of seed cleaning required. Seeds can be separated by size, length, weight, surface texture or degree of roundness. The skilled operators at Gries Seed Farms have many years of experience in seed production and conditioning. We strive to market a quality seed that is clean and assured of varietal purity. |
